[ There's no sense in being irritated with Varric for sending the letter. Technically, Hawke should have sent the letter before or after the Incident in the Fade. And he should have perhaps warned the guards that perhaps some of his other associates-slash-friends would inevitably find their way to the Inquisition. He can already sense Cullen's stress level rising.
